Dr. Sukhbir Nain
Dr. Sukhbir Nain is a highly qualified veterinarian with advanced training in clinical medicine, toxicology, and avian health. He completed his PhD at the University of Saskatchewan in 2008, followed by two years as a researcher at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon and one year at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He has been practicing veterinary medicine in Alberta since 2010.
Dr. Nain earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) in 2002 and his Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in 2004 in India. He has extensive experience in avian (bird) medicine, toxicology, emergency medicine, and the care of exotic species. His professional interests include toxicology, avian health, and exotic animal medicine.

Dr. Sushma Arya completed her Master of Science (MSc) in Animal Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 2010. Before moving to Red Deer, she volunteered at several veterinary facilities across western Canada, gaining valuable experience in both Lethbridge and Calgary. Dr. Arya earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) degree in India in 2006.
Her professional interests include preventive medicine, surgery, and companion‑animal nutrition. She is passionate about helping pets maintain long‑term health through proactive care and evidence‑based nutritional guidance.

Dr. Pam Kaakee is an experienced veterinarian who provides locum coverage on an as‑needed basis. She supports the clinic during busy periods, staff absences, and special scheduling needs, ensuring continuity of high‑quality patient care.
Jennifer Pulvermacher
Clinic Manager
Jennifer is the Clinic Manager at Lacombe Pet Clinic and a certified Medical Office Assistant. She has been an essential part of the team for the past nine years, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and supporting both clients and staff with her strong organizational skills and compassionate approach.
She has a genuine passion for animal well‑being and is dedicated to making every visit as positive and stress‑free as possible. Jennifer shares her home with three lively cats—Tux, Kitsy, and Kaytan—who keep her entertained and busy.
Registered Veterinary Technologist
Morgan is a recently graduated Registered Veterinary Technologist from Olds College. She loves being around animals and is passionate about every aspect of their care. At home, she shares her life with her dog, Koda, a cat affectionately known as Kitty, and her horse, Stitch.
In her spare time, Morgan enjoys being outdoors with her animals, spending time rodeoing, or riding Stitch out in the field. Her dedication to animal care and her active lifestyle make her a valued part of the clinic team.
Venesse Besorio
Registered Veterinary Technologist
Venesse graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Olds College in 2024 and has been supporting the clinic in her role as a Registered Veterinary Technologist. She shares her life with her four dogs—Maple, Toffee, Rocky, and Louis—who keep her both busy and happy.
She is passionate about caring for animals and making a meaningful difference in their lives. When she’s not at the clinic, Venesse enjoys relaxing with movies, cooking, and baking delicious sweet treats.
Veterinary Student Technologist
Kaitlynn is a Veterinary Student Technologist who is currently completing her training and will be eligible to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist in the near future. She has a strong passion for animal care—especially feline medicine—and shares her home with two beloved “house panthers,” Rallo and Tiny.
Her love for animals extends beyond her own pets; she frequently fosters both cats and dogs, providing them with a safe and caring temporary home. Outside of the clinic, Kaitlynn enjoys spending time outdoors. Her hobbies include camping, snowboarding, hiking, and exploring nature whenever she can.
Veterinary Medical Assistant
Katie is a recent graduate of the Veterinary Medical Assistant program at CDI College. Born and raised in Red Deer, she has loved animals for as long as she can remember. At home, she cares for three energetic Yorkies—Duke, Willow, and Harley—as well as two children (three, as she jokes, if you count her husband).
Katie enjoys spending time outdoors and loves fishing, camping, and embracing Alberta’s seasons. In the winter, she’s known for baking an excellent butterhorn that her family and friends look forward to every year.
